Creative approaches to Counselling in Hastings, London and Online

All of us, at some point in our life, may feel the need to seek help to get us through an overwhelming emotional difficulty or challenging experience. These can include relationship issues, bereavement, loss, body issues, stress and low self-esteem.

Often, we try to cope on our own and eventually blocks our ability to heal and move on in our lives, or we over-burden our partners, friends or family

Counselling is an opportunity to resolve such issues and live a more fulfilling life, you do not need to struggle alone. My practice combines creative approaches in therapy to help you integrate your experiences and discover your own resources to rebalance.

I offer one to one counselling in Hastings at the Wellington Centre and in London. For those unable to attend a face to face meeting I offer sessions on Zoom.

I am not what happened to me—I am what I choose to become.

Counselling

Counselling and Psychotherapy, provides you with a safe place to bring emotional and life issues. These may be causing pain; overwhelming you or stopping your enjoyment and progress in life. Counselling and psychotherapy sessions are a space to unpack your thoughts and feelings. By listening, reflecting and sometimes challenging you, I will help you to process your feelings and thoughts. My Counselling session in Hasting and London take place within established wellbeing centres, offering you peace of mind and a safe space.

Moving Forward

Counselling can be challenging because we are taught to avoid pain and difficulties. These can manifest as mental distress, physical symptoms, and even then, people avoid seeking help. If you recall how past difficulties helped you to overcome a fear or challenge, you will have learnt more about yourself, and these were the times you grew. Seeking counselling or longer-term psychotherapy is not a sign of weakness or failure, but a sign of self-care, as you recognise you need some help.

Taking the first step

A key component of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. As in any relationship, trust, confidentiality, commitment, and empathy are necessary elements of the therapeutic relationship. At the outset, it is a good idea to have a few sessions to get a feeling that we can work together for you to benefit from our sessions.

I draw on the resources of the body through breathing practices, focussing and visualisation to support the body-mind relationship and enhance wellbeing.

Counselling which lasts for a shorter-period is usually more focused and goal orientated, while psychotherapy which is more process-lead, allows time to explore deeper issues.
